SO???

How did the running go last night? I was thinking of all of you as I was chowing down at Bertoldi's!
Sandra and I are going out for a 1:1 run tonight. I could sure use it after all of the junk food I've been eating!
Anyone up for a Saturday run? I wouldn't mind going after dinner.

Ciao for now!

Name that tune..

I had to laugh when I found this article on running: TOP 40 SONGS FOR RUNNING. So if you're looking for "the perfect running tune", maybe this list will help you!!

1) Mary J. Blige - Family Affair
Ultra-steady jogging beat with a hypnotic hook. Mary J. is always inspirational.

2) Coldplay - Clocks
There are a number of Coldplay tracks that I think could work, but for me "Clocks" is the classic at this point. I feel a pleasant rush just listening even without the exercise.

3) Fatboy Slim - The Rockafeller Skank
Contemporary sample-laden dance music. I think this track can effectively fuel an intense workout.

4) A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran
This is for that 80's synth-rock fan in you. It's a great atmospheric sound, and, of course, the lyrical tie-in to running.

5) Killers - All These Things That I've Done
This is the current single by this hot Las Vegas based band. In my mind it's very inspirational particularly when it breaks into the singalong "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier" chorus.

6) Moby - Bodyrock
This one works well with "The Rockafeller Skank." The video is a must-see for the workout Moby puts a buddy through.

7) Scissor Sisters - Laura
That insistent piano beat will fuel a good jog. For some Scissor Sisters are an acquired taste. For others its an update on Elton John's mid-70's piano pop.

8) Simple Minds - Alive and Kicking
This is for the days when everything is feeling and working great. It is also another great 80's tune that builds into a positively glorious pop sound.

9) Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time
This is Britney's first hit, and I think possibly still the best. That insistent beat is a good soundtrack for a run.

10) Usher - Yeah!
If you want a little hip hop to add to the soundtrack, this a great recent hit. Program it in right next to Mary J. Blige.

2nd run...Same time, same bad channel

Excuse my cheesey humour...I love to come up with lame titles to catch your attention!

Next Tuesday's run (June 13th) will take place at 7p.m and will be at Springbank Park again. Once we get the feel for timing and distance we'll choose a new location (hopefully one that's closer for you, Carol and Jessica!)

I will not be in attendance that night, but I'll be thinking of you as I'm chowing down at Bertoldi's!!!

Celeste

One down, nine to go!

Tonight was great! What a nice break from my usual routine...and I get to do something healthy!

Thanks to Carol, Jessica, Jen, and Lori for making the run so much fun. It hardly felt like exercise at all!

Jen - I would like to nominate you for the position of "timer". Anyone care to second that motion?

Lori andI will be going for a Friday night run - 7p.m. at Springbank. If anyone is interested in joining us, the more the merrier!

Celeste

P.S. - I mentioned Noah's blog to you... it's http://noahweber.blogspot.com

Jogging moms minus 1

Sad news today...we have lost a jogging mom before the program has even begun!

Here's the note I got from Kelly:

Celeste,
I don't think I'm going to be able to come out on a regular basis to the run club. Since I live in Belmont I would either have to stay in London after work or go home and drive back in. I'm really sorry .... but, my neighbour Amy and I are going to start running once our aerobics class is over and I do want to run in the CIBC 5k. If you guys are ever interested in coming out my way to run, we sometimes go to the springwater conservation area (near Alymer and Pinecroft) to run. It is very well shaded (excellent in the heat) and has some nice trails. But it is a little drive for people living in London.
Kelly

I say that we select Springwater Conservation Area as one of our run choices and show Kelly we support her in her quest to complete the 5k!

See you tonight ladies!
Celeste
